Mobile FAFSA a ‘Step in the Right Direction’

In order to make it easier for students and families to fill out the 2018-2019 application for Federal Student Aid, the U.S. Department of Education has made available a beta version of a mobile app for students applying for financial aid.

The mobile app will provide users with the ability to complete the FAFSA safely and securely, edit and manage FSA ID, view loan and aid history, and access FSA’s signature source of information.

Seven Australian Universities Targeted in Global Hacking Campaign

Attractive targets for those interested in accessing intellectual property, universities – this time at least seven in Australia, have been attacked by cybercriminals.

According to Secureworks, who discovered the attack, “numerous spoofed domains referenced the targeted universities’ online library systems, indicating the threat actors’ intent to gain access to these resources.”

Liberty University Adds Cengage Unlimited Subscriptions to its Affordable Course Materials Program

Saving Liberty students $975 annually on course materials, the new partnership between Liberty University and Cengage Unlimited will provide all digital books and instructional materials free of charge to undergraduate students enrolled in online undergraduate courses.

These students will be able to access course materials across 70 disciplines and 675 courses, with subscription costs covered by the university.
