After searching for a way to manage funding and ethics applications, the University of Victoria discovered that there wasn’t much on the market and a customized system would be very expensive to buy. So a rock star team of university members formed an agile team to take on building a system in-house.
The Research Administration Information System (RAIS) was born and went live on July 30, 2018.

Announced Transition from Moodle to Canvas Elicits Both Cheers and Frustration
A year ago, the Chancellor’s Office of Vermont State College System (VSCS) decided Canvas was a superior LMS to Moodle and that it should be acquired as soon as possible.
Many professors are feeling disgruntled as they were still in the process of learning Moodle. Recalling the flawed handling of the implementation of Moodle, VSCS’ Faculty Assembly passed a resolution in protest of moving from Moodle to Canvas.
