Tyler Technologies, Inc. announced it has acquired ReadySub, a cloud-based platform that delivers comprehensive absence and teacher substitute management.
“The acquisition of ReadySub strengthens Tyler’s school portfolio and brings more comprehensive solutions to the school districts that we serve,” said Lynn Moore, president, and chief executive officer of Tyler.
Exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic, substitute teacher shortages can be alleviated by retaining a pool of qualified substitutes and automating the filling of these spots by ReadySub’s solution’s cloud-based platform that also integrates with the districts’ payroll, thus eliminating duplicate work and streamlining tasks.

Moodle US: A changing business model that goes beyond the US
The future of the LMS market will be determined by which solutions are able to address the needs of the self-hosted Moodle market says Phil Hill from Phil on Edtech.
Moodle, the world’s most-used academic LMS, is what many schools start with as their eLearning initiatives. Recently, Moodle acquired three US-based companies and merged them into a single new services company called Moodle US, which is being positioned to serve global markets, whether by direct cloud-hosting services or by sharing its cloud-hosting code with global Moodle Partners.
With more clarity about options now, schools using Moodle will be able to more fairly, evaluate an RFP process, and solving the problem of price point vs cloud-hosted full-service conversions is what the academic LMS market will be based on.
