MacEwan University Selects Talis Aspire Resource List Management Solution to Streamline Library Workflows and Increase Faculty Engagement
Seeking to widen their teaching and learning initiatives, MacEwan University selected Talis Aspire as their Resource List Management Solution.
MacEwan will leverage Talis Aspire’s more intuitive access to course materials while facilitating course design and structure by integrating the library’s holdings. The new initiative will also create efficiencies around collection development and content purchasing.
“We are under increasing pressure to be more accountable and to provide first-rate digital teaching and learning solutions, and Talis Aspire is a great fit. It’s cloud-based and platform-neutral, which was important to us. It will enable us to automate our processes and garner a deeper insight into resource use and management,” says Micheal Brundin, Digital Initiatives Librarian at MacEwan University.

Student Information System- Hastings Public Schools
HPS Planning to Replace PowerSchool for 2022-2023
Members of the Hastings Board of Education will be voting this August on purchasing Synergy by Edupoint, a student information system that would replace PowerSchool, and this shall be done in time for the 2022-23 school year.
Although this change means a lot of work, officials at Hastings Public Schools (HPS) say it is worth it. “This data is important data; it’s high stakes. It gives our funding from the state. We just think Synergy is going to do a better job with this. […]” says Trent Kelly, HPS director of technology and operations. “It’s a very intuitive process. We’ll have to get there. This stuff will not happen on day one, but it is a very intuitive program.”
