MDC’s Cybersecurity Center of the Americas to Offer the College’s First Set of Digital Badges
Miami Dade College (MDC) and Credly recently partnered to issue digital badges at MDC. These badges demonstrate accomplishment or skills that can then be displayed and shared within professional networking sites. Credly offers students an opportunity to display previously unrecognized skills.
The first set of digital badges offered at MDC will be in cybersecurity. MDC will then expand its badge offerings to other disciplines and departments in the near future.

Learning Management System – Shepherd University
Shepherd Will Begin Phasing in New Learning Management System Summer 2021
Shepherd University, which partners with American Public University (APUS), will transition to a new learning management system, after the decision made by APUS to discontinue Sakai.
Brightspace was the chosen system after the school received presentations from a few companies and Faculty members had the opportunity to participate in a Brightspace Sandbox and found the system to be user-friendly, comprehensive, and organized.

University of Notre Dame Selects EdTech Innovator Everspring to Build Professional Development Courses
Everspring Inc. announced a partnership with the University of Notre Dame to build a series of professional education courses for the Pulte Institute for Global Development.
The new courses, which are part of a new Data for Development (DfD) digital certificate, will leverage Everspring’s sophisticated learning design technology to deliver the content in an engaging format.

Proctor System – British Columbia Institute of Technology
British Columbia Institute of Technology Selects Integrity Advocate
The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) has selected D2L to provide them with Integrity Advocate, an online privacy and proctoring tool.
Integrity Advocate, a partner of D2L, verifies learners’ identity, monitors training participation, and proctors online examinations while easily integrating with Brightspace, D2L’s learning management system.
“We have a great ongoing relationship with D2L, so it made sense to explore their solutions when rethinking our remote proctoring needs. This has never been more important as we continue to rely heavily on online education and testing due to COVID-19,” said Bryan Fair, Special Projects Office, Learning & Teaching Centre, BCIT.
