York Launches a Virtual Assistant for Undergraduate Students
York is launching a 24/7 virtual assistant through Moodle as part of its commitment to enhancing student experience. Students will thus be able to receive immediate answers to a variety of questions regarding campus services, courses, and programs.
The virtual assistant will also provide students with advising support complementing the in-person advice received by staff. Student interaction will enable the tool to continually evolve; the more the data is gathered, the more refined the answers will be on a growing range of topics.

Canvas to Replace Blackboard as NU Learning Management System
After receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from students and instructors, Northeastern University (NU) chose Canvas as its new learning management system.
Compared to NU’s current LMS, it is believed that the Canvas platform is better at serving the needs of the campus population as well as more efficient at completing the daily functions required by students.
Canvas will complete its phased-in adoption in the Spring of 2021.
