Blackboard Inc. announced the execution of a definitive agreement to sell its Blackboard Open LMS business to Learning Technologies Group plc (LTG). Anticipated to close early in the second quarter of 2020, this allows Open LMS to focus on innovations and services while allowing Blackboard to accelerate momentum in helping its clients move to its SaaS deployment of Learn and Ultra.
“This further simplification of our business will enable the company to continue accelerating investment and innovation in our unique EdTech platform that will enable a more personalized experience, fueled by data, to advance learning for our clients,” said Blackboard Chairman, CEO and President Bill Ballhaus.

Robert Morris University Moves to the Cloud with Ellucian
Robert Morris University (RMU) elected to replace its existing homegrown enterprise resource planning solution with Ellucian Banner. RMU will be deploying Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Ethos, and Ellucian Analytics in a Software-as-a-Service model.
Approaching its 100th-year anniversary, the university is marking the occasion with a university-wide digital transformation.
