CSUB to Make the Switch to Canvas
As CSUB’s contract with Blackboard is set to expire on June 30, 2021, the school’s administrators started to examine alternative LMS. Since nearly half of the universities in the CSU system have already switched to Canvas, CSUB decided to run a pilot of Canvas and ask for students’ feedback.
Online polls showed that students are willing to make the move since they viewed Canvas as more “user-friendly”, not only because of its ease of access and navigation but also because of its ease of communication with professors.

After the shift to online classes, many postsecondary institutions let their students opt to receive pass/fail grades for their current session’s classes. This decision, as made by the University of Pennsylvania, also meant that the institution now had to set up a way for students to request that change remotely.
The University of Pennsylvania turned to BP Logix, a digital form and workflow with a drag-and-drop process that automates the connection of data from multiple sources.
