Noodle Swallows an OPM Competitor
Noodle recently purchased several key assets of HotChalk. Neither company shared the financial details, but the deal is part of yet another wave of consolidation in the marketplace of online program companies, or OPMs.
In the case of Noodle, this acquisition represents an expansion of its network while bringing in-house digital marketing expertise. As for HotChalk, it seems to mean the end of another cautionary tale in the education-technology space as they were in what some called a ‘problematic revenue-sharing relationship’ with Concordia University-Portland which is closing this February.
