U of T Launches IBM-Powered Virtual Assistant to Help Students Access Mental Health Supports
The University of Toronto is introducing Navi, a virtual chat ‘navigator’ to help students find the proper mental health supports whenever and wherever needed. This new virtual assistant, developed in response to student feedback, will be launched later this month.
Meticulously tested, Navi responds in natural language at the click of a button without requiring students to log in or share any personal data. As Navi operates, it will receive ongoing updates on topics that students demand as they transition to university life.

Boise State Will Transition Blackboard Courses to Canvas by Fall 2021
After a successful pilot, Boise State University signed an agreement to implement the Canvas LMS by the Fall of 2021. Boise State believes Canvas will allow for more meaningful and engaging learning experiences for faculty and students.
The University is investing in resources to help mitigate the transition which will impact all course sections. The magnitude of such a transition is well understood and has been taking into consideration. The ease of use and future time-saving will outway any transition downtime.

American Public University System (APUS), a provider of online programs for the nation’s military and public service communities, recently selected Akademos to operate its online bookstore.
Working directly with major education publishers, Akademos will enable APUS to automate the ordering process for a wide selection of no-cost textbooks and to save 30 to 35% on books from traditional brick-and-mortar providers thus greatly helping students who are ineligible for book grants.
