K12, Inc Fired After 270k Miami Students Suffer Disastrous First Two Weeks of Fall Term
Although few disasters have been seen regarding the move to online courses due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the last two weeks have seen one of the biggest EdTech failures leading to a large-scale outage.
This failure is due to a series of technical problems disrupting students from taking class within the Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Florida, the fourth-largest K-12 district in the United States, which led the district to cancel the $15.3 million no-bid contract it had signed with K12, Inc.

A nonbinding agreement was signed between Grand Canyon Education and Valparaiso University regarding the creation and management of online graduate programs as well as nursing and health-care programs – the latter provided by Orbis Education, a subsidiary of Grand Canyon Education.
Valparaiso would be the first OPM customer of Grand Canyon Education aside from Grand Canyon University.
